We’ll talk decorations, food, games and, of course, printables.
I’ve made this amazing printable baby shower set for you to enjoy. It includes: invitations, a banner, games and some all purpose themes cards.
The cutest mustache decorations
The easiest thing to do to decorate your baby shower is to get some mustache stickers and literally stick them everywhere. But I’m not here to tell you to do just one simple thing, my goal here is to make your baby shower awesome and I’ve found a couple of ideas that are the perfect combination of easy and cute.
I want to ask you something. What do you think works best with some whiskers? That’s right! BOWTIES
Mustaches and bowties go together like peanut butter and jelly and the beauty of bow ties is that they are super easy to make.
To make this utensil sets all you really need is the utensils, some paper napkins and some ribbon. Tie some of the ribbon ,as it’s shown in the picture, and use a dab of hot glue or scotch tape to keep the ribbon in place.
Hang the cutest banner
In my printable set you’ll find this amazing banner I’ve designed for you; it spells out “Little Man” and it features a light brown background with blue and brown lettering.
To hang this banner you’ll, first, need to print it out on some sturdy cardboard and cut each letter out following the dotted line. Later, you can use some string and some clothespins to assemble the banner.
Hang it wherever you like. It’s perfect to hang over your main table, for example.
Never go wrong with a diaper cake
Diaper cakes are a baby shower classic for a reason, they are perfect for decoration and incredibly useful for the mommy-to-be. I’ve made a video showing you exactly how to make the perfect diaper cake for your baby shower by yourself.
Here it goes.
Cups with a ‘stache
I found this idea to be really fun! And it’s incredibly simple as well.
To make these you should get a bunch of plastic cups and some mustache stickers and paste them on the cups so when you or your guests drink from them, they look like instant mustaches! You can also get different mustache designs for the different color cups you have!
A great idea for your handle-BAR
Ok, I admit it, I stretched the pun a little too far, but the idea is still good.
You can decorate your table with a huge mustache just like in the pic. It doesn’t get much simpler than that, does it?
Now the only question is what to put on the table.
Some great mustache themed NOMZ
For this particular theme you can go for almost any kind of food but why not step it up a little and get some 1920’s snacks like deviled eggs, stuffed mushrooms, roasted nuts and olives. Pretty simple but very theme appropriate.
Also, there’s no reason why the food at your shower can’t be themed as well. Let’s take a look.
Amazing mustache baby shower cake
I find it amazing just how easy it is to make a mustache cake with a regular old circular cake pan.
To make this cake just bake your cake from scratch or use your favorite cake mix and let it cool. Cut out a shape like the yin-yang on the cake and form your mustache.
NOTE: For an extra kick you can use some chocolate frosting and make the whole thing look like it’s made out of hair.
How ’bout a bowtie salad?
Pasta salad is such a staple at parties and perfectly suited for this particular theme. You can go with the classic, tried and true, version with onions, celery, green peppers, and carrots, or get as creative as you want with your ingredients. Either way it’s guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser.
This is another one of those food options that is only limited by your imagination. To make your manwiches you will need:
- Sliced bread of your choice
- A mustache cookie cutter (optional)
- Assorted toppings
Once you’ve decided on your toppings, think tea sandwiches here, you are ready to start building. Lay out one slice of bread, top with ingredients, and cover with a second slice. If you have a mustache or bowtie cookie cutter use it to cut the shape on the center of your sandwich and display for serving. If you do not own shaped cutters, simply remove the crust of the sandwich and cut it into small triangles. Place them on the serving tray with the points touching to resemble a bowtie.
What’s a shower without games?
Now that you’ve tackled the food and decor it’s time to entertain your guests. Here are a couple of ideas to do just that!
Name that stache
Our printables set comes with this very fun and simple game to play. All you have to do is print out as many cards as you need and hand one to each guest. The object of this baby shower game is to match the mustache names printed at the bottom with the images printed on top.
“Don’t say baby” game
“Don’t say baby” is another shower classic. While usually played with small bows or pins this mustache baby shower version utilizes bowties. You can either make them out of cardstock or fabric and attach pins to the back. As your guests arrive have them take a bowtie from the basket and clip it to their clothes. Throughout the day, if you hear anyone saying the word “baby” you have the right to take their bow tie and attach it to your own outfit. At the end of the evening, whoever has the most bowties wins the game.
